Dongwha Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (DMY), formerly known as Golden Hope Fibreboard Sdn. Bhd., is one of the early pioneers of the MDF industry in Malaysia, commencing operations in 1993. Dongwha Holdings Company Limited, a listed company in Korea, acquired the share capital and established a joint venture with Golden Hope In 2003.

Having 3 plants located in Nilai, Merbok and Kulim, they equip DFB as the one of the forerunners in wood panel manufacturing industry in Malaysia. We make MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and MFB (Melamine Faced Board) with the total capacity of 400k m3 and 95k m3 respectively .

The plant in Nilai, which was acquired Golden Hope in July 2003, is the first DFB’s base for our operation. It majors in MDF manufacturing with annual product capacity of 140k m3 annually. In November 2006, DFB acquired Merbok MDF, stationed in Kedah Darul Aman. It is a well-furnished plant with press systems Siempelkamp Contiroll 2.44X23.5M and Siempelkamp Contiroll 2.74X18M. It leads DFB to have an additional capacity of 260,000m3 (MDF) and 100,000m3 (MFB). A year later in May 2007, DFB acquired Guthrie MDF and found Dongwha MDF (M) Sdn. Bhd. Located in Kulim of Kedah Darul Aman, DMM is an expert in MDF production with equipped of Metso (Kuster) Contipress 2.44X20.96M and its annual capacity is 150,000m3.

Apart of majoring in MDF manufacturing, Dongwha also established DCM (Dongwha Chemical (M) Sdn Bhd) by acquiring Merbok MDF resin plant in November 2006. Its main products are formalin, resin & LPL (Low Pressure Laminates).
