Established to answer the nation's demand for cement, Tasek Corporation Berhad was incorporated in 1962 as Tasek Cement Limited and listed on the Stock Exchange the following year. It commenced cement production in 1964 with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons at its present plant in Tasek Industrial Estate, Ipoh. Since then Tasek had embarked on a series of multi-million ringgit expansions in tandem with the country's development, culminating in the latest rehabulitation and expansion programmes designed to increase the plant's annual clinker production to 2.3 million tons per year.
