Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (TCMH) was incorporated in Malaysia on 14 October 1972 and listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 4 February 1974. TCMH Group commenced business as a small motor vehicle distributor in the 1950s and has grown into a conglomerate involved in a variety of activities ranging from the assembly and distribution of motor vehicles, provision of after-sales services, and motor related financial services, auto parts manufacturing to property development and trading in various heavy machinery, industrial equipment and consumer products, both locally and abroad.

Under a restructuring exercise which ended in 1999, TCMH was demerged into 4 public listed entities forming the Tan Chong Group we know today :

• Tan Chong Motors Holding Berhad (www.tanchong.com.my) : After the de-merger exercise, TCMH re-focused on motor-related business activities

• APM Automotive Holdings Berhad (www.apm-automotive.com) : The auto parts division involved in the manufacturing and distribution of automotive components

• Warisan TC Holdings Berhad (www.wtch.com.my) : The non-motor division involved in the distribution of heavy machinery, cosmetics, undergarments and tourism related activities

• Tan Chong International Limited (www.tanchong.com) : Representing the various business interests of TCMH outside Malaysia

Today, TCMH and its subsidiaries have amongst their principal activities the assembly and distribution of motor vehicles, provision of after-sales services, and motor related financial services such as hire purchase, leasing and insurance agency.

TCMH is the franchise holder and exclusive distributor of Nissan and Renault vehicles as well as trucks and buses under the brand of UD Trucks in Malaysia. Besides being a well-recognized automotive player locally, the Tan Chong Motor Group has expanded its presence in the region to countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
